Job Description: The Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance will be responsible for establishing and leading Governance, Control, and Compliance (GCC) capabilities across various portfolios within Uganda. This role involves implementing solutions tailored to the country’s unique context, ensuring adherence to the Group’s GCC Framework, and driving risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation, tracking, and monitoring of the Group GCC Framework.
- Engage with stakeholders, including senior executives, to manage risk and compliance.
- Oversee the identification, mitigation, and reporting of risks and regulatory requirements.
- Assess risk assessments and ensure adherence to standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Commerce, Information Technology, or Legal.
- Experience: 8-10 years in audit, assurance, and risk management with experience in the banking sector and managing diverse teams.
- Competencies: Strong understanding of regulatory environments, Basel II, and non-financial risk. Ability to challenge ideas, develop strategies, and direct teams.
