Position: Football Research Science & Technology Manager
Location: Kampala, Uganda

Position Overview
The FUFA TMP recognizes the modern-day requirement for data and technology to make informed decisions and support football on the field. The Football Research, Science, and Technology Manager will lead formulation, maintenance, and management of football data, integrating cutting-edge research, scientific insights, and technological advancements into our football programs. This role involves overseeing research projects, implementing new technologies, and working closely with the FUFA Football Development Director to ensure that our FUFA TMP is at the forefront of global standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sports Science Human Resources: Design profiles and qualifications of sports science human resources in FUFA, particularly in professional leagues.
  • Sports Science and Psychology Policy Design: Develop a detailed FIFA sports science policy regulating internal and external applications.
  • Technology Integration: Identify, evaluate, and implement technological solutions to improve player performance, match analysis, injury prevention, and overall football development. Prepare and extend football performance standard tests and maintain seasonal data.
  • Collaboration: Establish relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and technology providers to foster partnerships and collaborative projects that advance football science and technology.
  • Data Systems and Analysis: Monitor and analyze data from international and local football data systems to provide actionable insights and recommendations for program improvements.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive reports on research findings, technology implementations, and their impact on football development to the FUFA Football Development Director.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Sports Science, Sports Technology, Research, or a related field.
  • Football Education: Proof of Football Administration and Management course, particularly FAMACO II, is an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in sports science, research, or technology management, with a proven track record in football or sports-related fields.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in managing research projects and implementing technological solutions. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of football dynamics, sports science principles, and emerging technologies relevant to football.
  • Personal Traits: Innovative, detail-oriented, and a strategic thinker with a passion for advancing football through research and technology.
  • ICT: Proficient ICT skills.

Position: Mass Football Manager
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Department: Football Development
Supervised by: FUFA Football Development Director

Position Overview
Mass football sits at the base of the football development pyramid and is one of the key pillars of FUFA TMP. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mass Football Manager to drive our mass participation football programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the FUFA Football Development Director to design, implement, and manage programs that increase football human resources, mass participation activities, development of mass football fields and pitches for 5-a-side games (futsal and beach soccer), enhance governance in mass competitions, and develop beach soccer and futsal across all FUFA Regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Elaborate, implement, and oversee activities of mass football aimed at increasing participation from grassroots to all age groups for men and women.
  • Mass Football Human Resources: Collaborate in developing and extending programs for increasing human resources for mass football from players, coaches, referees, and administrators across all regions.
  • Mass Football Competitions: Support mass football competitions, regulations, relations, stakeholder forums, innovations, advocacy programs, and football equipment.
  • Playground/Playing Surfaces: Engage stakeholders in developing and improving basic playing surfaces for football, futsal, and beach soccer. Specific programs and projects for providing footballs for mass football.
  • Mass Football Governance: Establish regulations and frameworks for mass football governance, develop and promote FUFA framework for competition authorization, and promote safety and security in mass football.
  • Beach Soccer and Futsal: Coordinate initiatives to develop beach soccer and futsal in cooperation with related associations governing these 5-a-side games.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on program outcomes, participation statistics, and stakeholder feedback to the Head of the department.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university. Additional qualifications in physical education, football coaching, or management are advantageous.
  • Football Education: Proof of Football Administration and Management course, particularly FAMACO II, is an added advantage.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in sports management, community engagement, or a similar role, preferably with a focus on football.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and leadership skills with a proven ability to manage large-scale programs and events. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of football at grassroots levels, stakeholder relations, and project management.
  • Personal Traits: Enthusiastic, proactive, and a team player with a passion for promoting all forms of football under FUFA.
  • ICT: Proficient ICT skills.
