ABOUT KRC-UGANDA
Kabarole Research and Resource Centre-Uganda (KRC-Uganda) is a Non-Governmental Organization established in 1996. It operates in Uganda with its head office in Fort Portal, a national coordination office in Kampala, and field offices in Kyaka II, Kyangwali, BidiBidi, Rhino Camp, and Rwamwanja Refugee settlements. With a mission centered on research and a long-term dedication to understanding the measures and drivers of poverty and its solutions, KRC-Uganda has been actively working with youths, farmers, women, refugees, and local communities in Western Uganda. Job Description: The Finance & Compliance Officer will support finance and administrative functions, implementing internal controls at various levels of financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and KRC-Uganda guidelines. Responsibilities include office administration, procurement, payments, reporting, logistics, fleet management, and ensuring compliance.
Specific Job Roles:
- Finance:
- Manage the cash register and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Facilitate payments at the bank and maintain proper documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding balances with partners and staff, ensuring timely closure.
- Maintain clear records, collect accountability, scan and upload justification documents.
- Check financial reports and supporting documents and strengthen existing practices.
- Compliance:
- Prepare compliance reports, including annual reports for regulatory bodies.
- Ensure proper registration and timely renewal of permits with relevant institutions.
- Stay updated on laws and regulations, ensuring continued compliance.
- Office Administration:
- Procure small office items and manage inventory effectively.
- Support asset management through accurate documentation and regular updates.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning office space.
- Welcome visitors professionally and provide assistance as needed.
- Manage fleet logistics.
Organizational:
- Assist in partner meetings, taking minutes and providing administrative support.
- Coordinate logistics for events, including international visits.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support organizational operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in financial management, compliance, and office administration.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Requirements and Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing); knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Job Description: The Human Resource Assistant will support administrative, documentation, and record management tasks, including updating staff annual leave tracker, staff contract tracker, filing documents, drafting contracts and appointment letters, supporting recruitment processes, and handling other HR tasks while maintaining confidentiality.
Specific Job Roles:
- Disseminate job adverts on career pages, social media, and notice boards.
- Receive, record, and file job applications.
- Inform shortlisted applicants of interview details.
- Prepare venues and tools for interviews.
- Monitor and update annual leave and staff contract expiry trackers.
- Notify the Human Resource Officer about staff contract expiries.
- File HR documents as guided by the HR Officer.
- Distribute training materials during capacity-building sessions.
- File institutional monthly reports.
- Schedule staff appointments with the HR Officer.
- Draft appointment letters, contracts, and acceptance letters.
- Store, copy, and scan institutional documents.
- Monitor staff attendance at the head office and field offices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a diploma in Human Resource Management, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field with HR coursework.
Requirements and Skills:
- Basic knowledge of labor legislation.
- Public relations and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Solid organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
