Job Summary: The Economist & Access to Markets Advisor will support the INCLUDE project, funded by the Royal Netherlands Embassy, aimed at improving livelihoods for 75,000 smallholder livestock farmers in Uganda. The role involves financial, economic, and market assessments, leading the implementation of inclusive livestock markets, and supporting policy development for smallholder farmers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote knowledge sharing and joint actions among stakeholders.
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation through capacity building.
  • Support project planning and quality control.
  • Participate in relevant conferences and communicate project results.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, including government and private sector.
  • Prepare cost benefit assessments and market price monitoring.
  • Lead the implementation of the INCLUDE pathway 2.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Economics or Business Administration with specializations in rural development, microfinance, or agriculture economics.
  • 8+ years of experience in agricultural finance or rural development programs.
  • Proven experience with input/output market actors and financial institutions in Uganda.
  • Skills in leadership, coaching, documentation, planning, and evaluation.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
  • Analytical skills with a practical approach to achieving results.
  • Commitment to gender equity and diversity.

Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Job Summary: The Logistics Assistant will provide logistical support services, ensuring the availability and quality of logistics to support SNV operations in Uganda. The role involves fleet management, facilities management, asset management, filing and archiving, and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Operation Team.
  • Coordinate fleet and facilities management.
  • Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs.
  • Gather and prepare relevant reports on logistics.
  • Ensure timely support in logistics and fleet functions.
  • Support facilities management and coordinate maintenance.
  • Organize and track organizational assets.
  • Control and file motor vehicle logbooks and related documents.
  • Evaluate transport facilitators and logistics vendors’ performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics, Administration, or relevant qualification.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in logistics management and administration.
  • Private sector experience is an added value.
  • Good understanding of managing a large pool of vehicles.
  • Self-motivated with good teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and social media.
