Job Summary:
The Driver – Administrative Assistant is responsible for transporting staff and materials, assisting with the pickup and delivery of IRI-related business items, and ensuring the safe and efficient transport of IRI staff and authorized individuals. This role also involves maintaining vehicles and supporting staff with logistical needs.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in transportation logistics.
- Valid driving license CAT B and D with excellent driving skills.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
- Prior experience on a USAID project or other U.S. government project is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive staff and run administrative errands.
- Maintain vehicle in a professional, safe, and clean manner.
- Check vehicle daily for essential maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with local traffic laws and IRI policies.
- Report any accidents or incidents promptly.
- Support staff in travel arrangements for field visits and other activities.

Job Summary:
The Program Officer (PO) will support the development and implementation of IRI programs in Uganda, focusing on peacebuilding, democracy, governance, and political participation. The PO will assist with program strategy, proposals, activity reports, and monitoring and evaluation, and will report directly to the Resident Program Director (RPD).
Position Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in political science, international relations, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in international development programming.
- Experience working with political parties, civil society organizations, NGOs, or legislative bodies.
- Strong understanding of Uganda’s political, economic, historical, and cultural contexts.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience with USG-funded projects and familiarity with USG regulations, particularly USAID and the U.S. Department of State.
- Financial management experience in developing and administering program budgets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor activity budgets and expenditures.
- Design, develop, and manage program areas ensuring compliance with donor and IRI guidelines.
- Implement program activities, including coordination and delivery of events.
- Fulfill reporting requirements and provide guidance for team documents.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Develop plans for programmatic objectives and support project proposals.
- Travel within Uganda to support programmatic objectives.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders in Uganda and DC.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the RPD.
