Job Purpose:
The Crop Scout is vital for our agricultural operations, performing thorough inspections of crops to assess plant health, identify diseases, pest infestations, and weed issues. This role supports the company’s strategic agronomic planning by providing timely and accurate field insights. Working under the Technical Supervisor-Agronomy, the Crop Scout helps optimize crop yield and overall farm productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning: Organize field monitoring schedules.
- Monitoring and Surveying: Conduct weekly field visits, assess crop health, report pest and disease threats, perform yield estimates, and take soil/tissue samples.
- Recording and Reporting: Collect data on pests, diseases, and weeds; make recommendations; report irregularities.
- Support Research and Development: Oversee casuals, monitor trials, and participate in research projects.
- Quality Control: Ensure plant population thresholds, proper seed coverage, correct fertilizer application, and minimal harvesting losses.
Specific Skills:
- Result-oriented with high integrity and transparency.
- Physically fit for varied field environments.
- Computer literate; ability to ride a motorbike is desirable.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agriculture.

Job Purpose:
The Quality Controller ensures the quality of grain products from raw materials through production to finished goods. This role involves monitoring quality, implementing quality procedures, conducting audits, and providing training.
