Role Description
The Country Manager will steer the mission to address ultra-poverty in Uganda through innovative, impactful, and sustainable initiatives. The role includes overseeing operations, leading multidisciplinary teams, and liaising with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership and Management: Oversee daily operations, ensure timely delivery of plans and budgets, implement productivity strategies, manage risks, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Team Leadership and Development: Provide strategic leadership, support department heads, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and monitor country strategic plans aligned with the global strategy.
- Stakeholder Management and Partnerships: Build relationships with local entities, represent the organization in meetings, and maintain strong communication.
- Reporting and Communication: Regular updates to regional and global teams, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and build strong internal communication systems.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Education: Degree in International Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in international development, including senior management roles.
- Skills: Strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, change management, strong communication and leadership abilities, results-oriented, and willingness to travel locally.

Job Summary
The PEAL Manager will drive strategic leadership within the Planning team, focusing on program expansion in Uganda and beyond. The role involves strategic planning, organizational expansion, monitoring & evaluation, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Align expansion strategies with organizational goals, conduct capacity assessments, and manage project budgets.
- Organizational Expansion: Develop and implement expansion frameworks, cultivate relationships with stakeholders, and support expansion in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop assessment tools, track progress, refine strategies based on data insights, and drive innovative practices.
- Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership, oversee performance management, and collaborate on strategic plans for the department.
Qualifications
- Education: University degree in Development Economics, Social Sciences & Statistics; Master’s in Business Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years in Monitoring & Evaluation, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
- Skills: Proficiency in data management tools, fluency in English, knowledge of project cycle management, technical skills in results-based monitoring, strong organizational and communication skills, flexibility, adaptability, and initiative-taking ability.
