Job Role:
Provide independent, objective assurance and advice to add value and improve organizational operations, focusing on internal control systems, risk management framework, and governance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop policies and procedures for the audit function.
- Create and update annual audit plans.
- Implement Audit Quality Assurance improvement programs.
- Supervise audit staff and ensure timely implementation of audit plans.
- Advise the Board and Management on improving controls and risk management.
- Oversee financial performance assurance, compliance, system security, and due diligence.
- Provide consulting services and advice on internal controls.
- Certify statutory returns to the Bank of Uganda.
- Supervise and train internal audit staff.
- Discuss audit plans and results with management and the Audit Committee.
- Interact with Risk and Compliance Departments.

Person Specification:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional Qualifications: ACCA, CPA, CIA; full membership of the ICPAU.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in auditing, with at least 5 years at a managerial level.
- Skills:
- Understanding of corporate governance, risk, and control processes.
- Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Data analysis and report preparation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Purpose:
- Prepare and review cash flows and MIS reports.

- Review stocks, debtors, creditors, and cash/bank for working capital.
- Budget preparation, forecasting, cost control, and management reporting.
