NFT Consult Ltd, a leading Warehouse and Logistics service provider in Kampala, Uganda, seeks a seasoned individual to head its Finance function. The successful candidate will oversee all financial planning, operations, projections, budgets, reporting, corporate finance management, and tax matters. The role supports the MD in strategy development and execution through effective planning and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage business financial planning and operations at both subsidiary and consolidated levels.
- Prepare financial projections, budgets, and expenditures for all departments and ensure regular monitoring.
- Identify, develop, and retain talented staff, including developing finance KPIs and completing performance appraisals.
- Supervise all finance personnel, including consultants, advisors, and bankers.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures, and controls.
- Stay aware of financial trends and reporting changes that could impact the business.
- Translate company strategies into financial business plans and long-range capital expenditure plans.
- Manage fundraising plans and design/maintain an optimal capital structure.
- Handle all debt and debt-raising activities and maintain relationships with current and prospective debt providers.
- Ensure adherence to risk management procedures and update them as necessary.
- Oversee cash and treasury management systems.
- Manage internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Ensure diligence, integrity, and accountability as an authorized signatory for the company.
- Ensure timely reporting of management accounts and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the full automation of accounting processes.
- Oversee the maintenance of the fixed assets register and the administrative management of the business’ property.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field; a Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, with at least four years in a senior management role. Previous experience as a CFO in a warehousing and logistics business is preferred.
- Professional accounting qualifications (CPA, ACCA); a CFA charter is an added advantage.
- Must be a member of ICPAU in good standing.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Strong analytical reasoning, financial, people, and risk management skills.
- Proficiency in automated financial management software.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Client Management:
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to understand their financing needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Assist clients with the application process for invoice financing and provide ongoing support.
- Operations Management:
- Coordinate with sales and credit teams to ensure timely approval and disbursement of funds.
- Risk Assessment and Management:
- Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of clients and their invoices to mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor and manage the risk profile of the invoice financing portfolio and address issues proactively.
- Compliance and Regulatory:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and internal policies related to invoice financing.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and implement necessary changes to financing processes.
- Product Development and Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving existing invoice financing products and services.
- Develop and implement new financing solutions to meet evolving client needs.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on the performance of the invoice financing portfolio to senior management.
- Analyze financial data and market trends to identify opportunities and risks in the invoice financing market.
Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in invoice financing, factoring, or a similar role within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and management principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
