Role Overview:
ZOA Uganda is seeking three Project Officers for the LIFT project in Lamwo District, Acholi Program Area. The Project Officers will play a critical role in planning and implementing activities aimed at promoting climate-resilient and inclusive livelihoods for host and refugee communities. The role involves mobilizing and training farmers, supporting market linkages, and ensuring the effective execution of project activities in alignment with ZOA’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Implementation: Execute project activities per the project document to achieve set outputs and outcomes, facilitate capacity-building events, and support the creation and implementation of Participatory Integrated Plans (PIPs) by farmers.
- Reporting and Knowledge Management: Contribute to activity and monthly reports, document lessons learned and best practices, and prepare success stories.
- Representation and Coordination: Engage in technical working groups and coordination meetings, collaborate with local government actors and project partners.
- Procurement and Finance: Initiate purchase requisitions, ensure expenses align with the budget, and provide appropriate expense codes.
- Accountability: Implement feedback and complaint mechanisms, document complaints, and work with the MEAL team to analyze feedback and improve interventions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in agricultural science or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role, preferably in a humanitarian setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in facilitation, communication, and writing. Computer skills in MS Excel and Word. Valid motorcycle driving license (Class “A”) and language skills in relevant local languages are advantageous.
- Attitude/Behavior: High integrity, flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to ZOA’s mission and values.
Special Conditions:
The position is based in Lamwo with regular travel to rural communities. Candidates must be comfortable riding a motorcycle in challenging conditions.
