Job Details
Reporting to: Head- Collections & Recoveries
Job Purpose: Supporting the Collections and Recoveries Unit for smooth operation and excellence.
Location: Kampala
Key Accountabilities
- Manage customer-related queries (balances, clearances, releases, etc.).
- Prepare and follow up on payment for invoices from service providers (Newspaper Agencies, Security companies, Valuers, EDCs).
- Track and monitor unit registers, SLAs, and Professional indemnity for stakeholders.
- Maintain a central Insurance tracker and update insurance claims status; provide monthly reports.
- Reconcile Collections and Recoveries related accounts (Corporate Expenses, Security group, GL accounts).
- Maintain a restructured account monthly checklist for classification, compliance, and upgrading accounts as per FIA.
- Monitor irregularly overdrawn accounts and liaise with branches for action.
- Track breaches and waivers monthly; maintain a tracker for effective decision-making.
- Follow up with Lending Operations on failed write-offs (loans above 455 days).
- Review and recommend checks and controls for security clearances in the security release process.
- Maintain and update tracker for properties on sale and foreclosed properties.
- Manage the Repossessions Control register; verify assets received and recorded.
- Secure insurance cover on repossessed assets and ensure their safety.
- Maintain sound working relationship with security and perform monthly checks on repossessed assets.
- Follow up on timely valuations and ensure collateral disposal is in line with policies.
- Perform any other assigned duties.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- One year of experience in any credit-related work.
- High level of customer service.
- Very good telephone techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good grammar is an added advantage.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Tactful and calm demeanor.
- Thorough understanding of the Bank’s Credit and SAM policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel; PowerPoint is an added advantage.
- Analytical skills.
- General understanding of bank products, policies, controls, and procedures.
- General understanding of business, financial, and accounting fields.
Work Hours: 8 hours per day
Experience in Months: 12 months
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
