Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Community Engagement and Formation of Producer Groups/Coops:
- Mobilize communities and stakeholders to raise awareness about the project.
- Organize inception meetings with district and lower-level government stakeholders, and other partners.
- Form, reorganize, and identify the required number of producer groups and cooperatives per district.
- Build the institutional capacity of cooperatives on leadership, governance, record-keeping, and contract management through partners and direct training.
Technical Implementation:
- Mobilize target communities for project activities such as trainings and reflection meetings.
- Conduct district-wide campaigns via radio programs on various themes aligned with project objectives.
- Develop annual work plans, budgets, and activity memos.
- Oversee partner-implemented activities and manage the submission of narrative reports.
- Build capacity of project participants and partners on project approaches, models, and practices, including climate-smart agriculture, post-harvest handling, entrepreneurship, business management, financial literacy, and disaster risk reduction.
- Enhance the managerial and operational capacity of local disaster risk management committees.
- Develop and publish IEC materials on common hazards and document good practices.
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant implementation of project activities.
- Connect SMEs to financiers, technology providers, production inputs, and assess SMEs for matching grants.
- Collaborate with community structures to identify technical capacity gaps and plan project activities accordingly.
- Prepare project updates for periodic review meetings.
- Innovate and propose effective ways to improve project implementation.
Strategic Collaboration:
- Utilize market facilitation approaches to strengthen input and output market systems.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local government, NGOs, and private actors.
- Connect producer groups and SMEs to markets through exhibitions and trade shows.
- Represent World Vision and the project in field-level stakeholder engagements.
- Organize and conduct review meetings with stakeholders to reflect on progress, impact, best practices, exit and sustainability strategies, and action-learning opportunities.
- Facilitate district-level coordination and dialogue through annual meetings.
Monitoring, Documentation, Reporting, and Learning:
- Manage project implementation and finances using results-based management tools.
- Develop internal monitoring and operational plans, and monitor partner activities.
- Conduct field-level spot checks of partner-implemented activities.
- Coordinate regular joint monitoring of project activities.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of high-quality reports to the donor and World Vision Uganda.
- Maintain transparent, efficient, and effective project data, information, and financial progress.
- Lead the documentation and sharing of project impact, success stories, and best practices.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, climate/environmental science, or a related field.
- Technical skills and/or experience in natural resources, climate change mitigation and adaptation, financial inclusion/micro-finance, value chain development, small enterprise development, and livelihoods programming.
- At least three years of field-based project management and implementation experience.
- Experience in climate-resilient agricultural support and agribusiness management.
- Experience with development institutions and NGOs is desirable.
- Committed Christian able to stand above denominational diversities.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to attend and participate in daily devotions and weekly chapel services.
- Motorcycle riding skills and a valid permit.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Experience working with producers and MSMEs.
- Analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
