About CORSU
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for People with Disabilities in Uganda (CORSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental organization supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CORSU provides Orthopedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Rehabilitation services, primarily for children and adults with disabilities.
Job Purpose
The Orthopedic Surgeons will deliver high-standard care in diagnosing and managing orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. This includes conducting surgeries and assisting the Head of Orthopedics in various services such as trauma, upper and lower limb surgery, hip and knee, foot and ankle, pediatric orthopedics, and limb reconstruction. Responsibilities also include conducting clinical work such as pre-assessment clinics, patient follow-ups, and ward rounds, and collaborating with the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team in limb reconstruction.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Master of Medicine (MMED) in Orthopedics, with a background of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent.
- Pediatric Orthopedic fellowship is an added advantage.
- Registered with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC) with a valid annual practicing license.
- Registered with the Orthopedic Society of Uganda.
Work Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an Orthopedic Surgeon.
- Excellent patient management skills.
- Excellent surgical skills and stamina.
- Good teaching skills.
- Demonstrated clinical competency and proficiency in orthopedic surgery.

- 8 hours per day
