National Unity platform’s candidate wins makerere Guild presidential elections

This come after the disqualification of a one Nattabi Margaret, a fellow Natinal Unity platform contestant
which was on terms of mobilizing what the university termed as illegal gathering.

  Robert Maseruka has been proclaimed victor of the Makerere University Guild presidential race turning into the University’s 89th Guild president.
Mr Maseruka, a third-year undertake of journalism and mass communication  won eight different candidates in a firmly challenged Friday political race held in the midst of tight security.
As per results counted by Levvi Tshilumba the College Electrol officer, Maseruka earned 2,558 votes while his nearest competitor, Mr Hillary Oremo Odwee gathered 2,531 votes in the web based ( online) voting   that ended Friday night.
Different competitors in the race included Sabiiti Akankunda with 2334, Baraka Nkoyooyo who got 841 votes, Imprint Ssebunya who secured 53 votes and Evans Murungi who got 189 votes.
Others in the race were Emmanuel Wanyama with 180 votes, Andrew Lubinga Ssemakula, 186 votes and Julius Birigwa with 11 votes.

Who is Robert Maseruka ?

He was born to Mr Simon Ssetuba and Ms Joseline Nanfuka
Robert Maseruka was born  in Nakisunga town in Mukono district,
He attended primary  at Kireka hill infant in Kampala ,  he later joined  Wellstar Brilliant Secondary school Mukono.
During his O level, Maseruka filled in as chapel in senior three and four (2015-2016) and head prefect in A-level (2017-2018).
Maseruka joined Makerere College in 2020 and was owned up to the university through a private scholarship.
He was the class president  in from 2020 and 2023, and the guild representative councilor of the School of languages, literature and communication in the active 88th Guild board.

National unity platforms party president, Bobi wine aka Robert kyagulanyi sentamu has come out to congratulate him in his post he made on social media ” You can’t stop an idea whose time has come. Congratulations, comrade Maseruka.”
