Police capture famous power vandals in Kayunga

Police in Kayunga have captured four individuals believed  to be among  the pack that has been taking Electricity wires and meters in vast Mukono region.

The Kayunga official responsible for the criminal investigations department, Ms Beatrice Ajwang, said on Saturday that the four, all occupants in various places of Kayunga Locale were captured subsequent to getting intelligence that connected them to a spate of Electricity wire, solidor and meter robberies.

“They have been taking the wires and meters from Kayunga, Mukono, and Buikwe locale. On occasion they have been disguising as Umeme staff and doing observation of their objectives,” Ms Ajwang said.
She added that they were captured with solidor wires, meters and other power gadgets thought to have been taken from different parts.
They were likewise found possessing Umeme uniform and Electricity pole climbing shoes.

“Their capture will create relief in  the region. They have even been carrying out their activities at night ,” she said.
The Kayunga district Police commander (DPC), Ms Rosette Sikahwa, expressed burglary of water meters is likewise raising in the locale, promising to have every one of those participated in the act captured and arraigned.
