Job Summary
The Uganda Revenue Authority is seeking 13 Officers Petroleum to support the compliance of petroleum licensees and contractors in the oil and gas sector. This role involves ensuring adherence to tax laws, providing advisory services, and maintaining stakeholder relationships to enhance tax compliance.
Key Accountabilities
- Support Compliance:
- Implement compliance strategies and quality assurance for the oil and gas sector.
- Develop and manage a databank of companies involved in oil and gas.
- Conduct tax field inspections and enforcement.
- Generate periodical compliance reports.
- Advisory Services:
- Provide technical guidance to the Petroleum Management Division.
- Assess the economic impact of oil and gas revenues and assist in policy formulation.
- Support legal teams in handling court cases related to the oil sector.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Educate licensees and contractors about their tax obligations.
- Manage relationships between government agencies in the oil and gas sector.
- Ensure prompt responses to taxpayer correspondences and conduct client relationship management.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, law, economics, statistics, business administration, engineering, geology, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Impeccable record of integrity.
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in Petroleum Accounting, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Law, or Management.
Knowledge:
- Understanding of national, regional, and international tax laws.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong reporting and computer skills.
- Research and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in teams and teach a diverse range of clients.
- Resilience and commitment to work.
Work Hours
- 8 hours per day.
