We are currently seeking qualified personnel for our Tilenga Project in Uganda.
Job Summary:
The Welding Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that welding procedures are followed correctly, welders are properly qualified, and that sound welds are produced. Additionally, you will manage welding documentation and oversee quality assurance processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welding Control System Administration: Manage and oversee the welding control system to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Monitoring and Inspection: Monitor welding activities, perform inspections, and conduct tests according to the approved Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan, and relevant procedures.
- Quality Promotion: Advocate for and promote quality awareness throughout the project.
- Documentation Review: Assist in reviewing the project Quality Plan, Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and related QA/QC documentation before fabrication or construction activities commence.
- Non-Conformity Management: Identify non-conformities and take corrective actions to control or prevent occurrences.
- Piping QC Requirements: Establish and implement quality control requirements for piping.
- Verification and Acceptance: Responsible for verifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR), and ensuring proper application of Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) acceptance.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Piping Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Piping Engineering/Construction and QA/QC inspections within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and ASNT Level II or higher in Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), or equivalent certifications.
- Skills: Proficient in English and Microsoft Office software.
