Weasle Assaults Events Promoter Nobat Over Unpaid Fees

Musician Weasle Manizo, real name Douglas Mayanja, has beaten up events promoter Nobert Twizire, alias Nobat Events.

In a video captured on Tuesday evening, Weasle is seen throwing a punch that landed on Nobat’s face. However, during an interview on Sanyuka Television later on Tuesday night, the surviving half of the legendary Radio and Weasle duo expressed his disappointment in the events promoter.

On August 2nd, Nobat organized a musical concert dubbed “Memories of Goodlyf” to celebrate the legendary Radio and Weasle. However, about three weeks after the Hotel Africana concert, Mayanja has accused the promoter of not paying him.

“You cannot disrespect artists like that. Imagine I left my children home when they know their dad has gone to work. Then you don’t pay me for my craft. I am a very bad person. People just don’t understand me. I just want my money. I sang very well and all the revellers enjoyed.” Douglas Mayanja said.

On the other hand, Nobert castigates the Bread Butter hitmaker for not being appreciative. He hinted at helping Weasle recover from the depths of despair by organizing a show for him.

“We were in a reconciliation meeting and I told them [Weasle] that they owe me a lot of money. Honestly, I also owe them shs 20 million, but he owes me shs 45 million. How do you say that I owe you when it’s me who is supposed to be asking you to give me money?” Nobert Twizire of Nobat Events said.

Nobert went on to disclose that prior to the show, the artist and his manager, who is his wife, received a sign-on fee of shs 10 million for the concert, a decision he said exhibits his generosity.

“I have helped that musician so much. By the time we were organizing the concert, Weasle didn’t have a car. However, after the concert, he has one, but I don’t.” Nobert Twizire added.
