On behalf of our client, Mr. Green Africa (MGA), we are looking for a skilled and experienced Junior Maintenance Technician to work in Uganda.
Job Purpose: Oversee and conduct operations of all machines in the factory, including sorting line, PO washing line, boiler, air compressor, chiller, pelletizer, wastewater treatment plant, crushers, and baler. Ensure equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance cost reduction through planned and opportunity maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
- Oversee plant operations and calibration checks.
- Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Maintain safe working and high product quality standards.
- Identify process deviations and perform corrective actions.
- Seek continuous improvement opportunities.
- Work proactively with the production department to improve equipment effectiveness.
- Achieve KPIs and scorecards in line with MGA standards.
- Arrange training for operatives in machinery/process knowledge.
- Apply Lean principles and techniques.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Diploma/Certificate in Mechatronic/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Degree preferred).
- 2 years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of technical processes related to plastic recycling.

Activities:
- Provide technical assistance and coordination according to project requirements.
- Support the Pipeline/Welding Superintendent on site.
- Act as primary supervisor for construction site areas.
- Monitor contractor progress and prepare performance reports.
- Identify and propose corrective actions for productivity issues.
- Supervise Site Pipeline interfaces and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
- Assist in resolving Technical Queries and ensure safety compliance.
- Maintain good relationships with contractors and interface with QA/QC personnel.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience:
- HND or equivalent in related discipline, current BGAS-CSWIP certification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical industry.
- Expertise in construction discipline with knowledge of NDE/NDT.
- Experience in large Topside, Onshore/Offshore pipeline construction, inspection, and coating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good organizational skills.
- Valid Medical Certificate compliant with company standards.
