About the Company

St. Francis Nkonkojeru Hospital, with support from the Makerere University Walter Reed Project, is dedicated to improving HIV and TB prevention, care, and treatment services. The hospital collaborates with the Ministry of Health, local government structures, and faith-based organizations in Luweero and Nakasongola districts. We are seeking qualified individuals to join our team as Data Clerks to support the implementation, data management, and reporting of Health Systems Strengthening programs.

Job Summary

The Data Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data management and reporting within the healthcare setting. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to maintain accurate electronic and paper-based records, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of patient care services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information and medical records into the health facility’s electronic information systems.
  • Collaboration: Work with medical staff to ensure data completeness and accuracy.
  • Data Verification: Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of data in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Data Cleaning: Lead routine data cleaning processes to enhance data quality.
  • Report Generation: Generate accurate and timely reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data Submission: Ensure timely and reliable submission of required reports to MoH, PEPFAR, and program-supported entities.
  • EMR Utilization: Use the Health Facility’s Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system for data entry, retrieval, and reporting.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Education: Minimum of a Diploma in Information and Communication Technology, Statistics, Medical Records, or a related field. A degree is an added advantage.
  • Experience: Prior experience in data entry, preferably in a healthcare setting, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with electronic medical record systems is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, DHIS2, and other data collection and reporting tools is required.
  • Other Attributes:
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
    • Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality guidelines
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Fluency in written and spoken English; fluency in local languages is an added advantage
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision

Physical Availability

  • Ability to travel on water
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle is an added advantage
  • Willingness to reside in Luweero or Nakasongola
