Minimum Qualifications and Working Experience

• Educational Requirements:
  • Ordinary Level Certificate
  • Advanced Level Certificate
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized University/Institution
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre or a recognized Institution
• Professional Experience:
  • Previous or current position as a Judge in a Court with unlimited jurisdiction in Civil and Criminal matters, or a Court with jurisdiction over appeals from such Courts
  • Alternatively, at least ten (10) years of practice as an Advocate in a Court with unlimited jurisdiction in Civil and Criminal matters
• Additional Qualifications:
  • Any advanced/post-graduate qualifications, ICT qualifications, and relevant work experience will be an added advantage
  • Certificate of Enrolment is required

Note: Applicants will act for two (2) years before being considered for a substantive appointment based on performance evaluation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Adjudicate cases within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Uganda in accordance with the Constitution.
