Minimum Qualifications and Working Experience
- Educational Requirements:
- Ordinary Level Certificate
- Advanced Level Certificate
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from a recognized University/Institution
- Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre or a recognized Institution
- Professional Experience:
- Previous or current position as a Judge in a Court with unlimited jurisdiction in Civil and Criminal matters, or a Court with jurisdiction over appeals from such Courts
- Alternatively, at least ten (10) years of practice as an Advocate in a Court with unlimited jurisdiction in Civil and Criminal matters
- Additional Qualifications:
- Any advanced/post-graduate qualifications, ICT qualifications, and relevant work experience will be an added advantage
- Certificate of Enrolment is required
Note: Applicants will act for two (2) years before being considered for a substantive appointment based on performance evaluation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Adjudicate cases within the jurisdiction of the High Court of Uganda in accordance with the Constitution.

- Certified copy of the latest Declaration of Income, Assets, and Liabilities from the Inspectorate of Government for applicants in Judiciary Service and Public Service
- Self-assessment declaration of competences (format available at www.jsc.go.ug)
