Job Summary
The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for managing stock activities in the health facility store, including requesting, receiving, storing, and issuing medical supplies, food items, equipment, and other materials to departments. This role also involves dispensing medications to patients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Track all goods movements in and out of the store, ensuring accuracy with dispatch notices.
- Perform scheduled physical stock counts and reconcile with records.
- Prepare and submit stock requests and follow up on deliveries.
- Issue stock to departments per MTI procedures.
- Ensure safe, secure, and identifiable storage of all goods, maintaining required temperatures for medicines.
- Maintain an efficient filing system for store documentation and enter information into ERP systems as needed.
- Prepare and submit reports on consumption, stock status, and expirations.
- Organize manual loading and unloading of vehicles as needed.
- Maintain an inventory register for non-consumable items and carry out stock rotation.
- Ensure adherence to store health and safety procedures.
- Maintain store security and cleanliness.
- Dispense medications and monitor prescriptions for adherence to clinical guidelines.
- Conduct training for clinical staff on medication management.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Certificate in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical and Health Supplies Management, or related field.
- Registration with Allied Health Professionals Council and a valid practicing license.
- At least one year of experience in a community or hospital pharmacy.
- Experience with INGOs is an advantage.
- Knowledge of store management, ERP systems, and medicine dispensing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Highly organized with strong quantitative skills and attention to detail.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to act with integrity, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to professional conduct.
- Physical fitness to handle heavy boxes.
- Ability to support MTI’s mission and adhere to its Code of Conduct.

Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician will manage daily laboratory operations, perform routine lab investigations, maintain laboratory supplies, and supervise the Laboratory Assistant. This role also ensures adherence to security and hygiene standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect samples and perform phlebotomy, including home visits for immobile patients.
- Interpret lab results, communicate findings to clinicians, and ensure confidentiality.
- Process specimens for external labs and follow up as necessary.
- Maintain quality control and hygiene standards in the lab.
- Manage biomedical equipment and inventory, ensuring proper use and maintenance.
- Conduct Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions for medical staff.
- Supervise and mentor direct reports, conduct performance evaluations, and enforce disciplinary procedures.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Registration with Allied Health Professionals Council and a valid practicing license.
- Additional qualifications in Laboratory Management are an advantage.
- At least two years of experience in a similar role, preferably with an international NGO.
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory practices and standard equipment operation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with good command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct.
- Physical ability to work in remote areas with basic living conditions.
- Ability to support MTI’s mission and adhere to its Code of Conduct.
