Roofings Group is the leading manufacturer of quality steel and plastic building products in East Africa. We are currently seeking to recruit highly motivated, technically experienced, and competent persons, with zeal to perform beyond expectations and excited to join a 30-year leading steel manufacturer.
Production Engineer
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Control and monitor all production activities in the Plant.
- Product quality inspection and improvement.
- Production Planning for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.
- Machine care and maintenance.
- Labor planning and control.
- Productivity planning and improvement (Goal and Value Setting).
- Process control and inventory management.
- Process monitoring, evaluation, and measurement.
- Spare parts, tools planning and management.
- Ensure material accountability.
- Interface with different stakeholders; internal and external.
Required Qualification, Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized university.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience as a Production Engineer in a similar work environment.
- Ability to identify and define problems, collect, analyze, and interpret data, draw appropriate conclusions, and propose solutions or corrective actions.
- Ability to work with minimum or no supervision.
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team player.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 60
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree

Report to: Production Engineer
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce the required quality and quantities of goods from the allocated machine.
- Minimize scrap generation.
- Machine setting and preparation of product ready to be packed.
- Operate the machine & ensure proper usage of raw material.
- Product marking as per the standards.
- Daily record-keeping for production and downtime.
- Conditional monitoring of machines and reporting of faults for rectification.
- Machine cleaning, lubrication, and tightening of fasteners.
- General housekeeping of the work environment.
Required Qualification, Skills & Experience:
- Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience as a Machine Operator in a similar work environment.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team player.

Level of Education: Associate Degree
